Viennese Panel incorporates many of the favorite motifs of the Vienna Secessionists at the turn of the century. These artists developed a unique style of art nouveau and often achieved a stark look using contrasting black and white elements and abstract organic patterns. As in the Scottish style of art nouveau, spatial arrangement is important, and the empty spaces are as fundamental to the design as the stitched areas.
